Color Theory and Abstraction
Adults
NEW! Color is essential in creating mood and composition in any work of art. In this class, you will work with unconventional, synthetic, and a non-local palette to create geometrical abstract works. Students will learn techniques to think abstractly in making oil paintings. You will look at works created by Eamon Ore-Giron, an artist based in Los Angeles, and Celeste, an artist duo based in Mexico City, whose exhibitions are on view this spring at The Contemporary Austin’s Jones Center.
