Exploring Fibers: Dyeing, Printing, Stitching

NEW! Experiment with fibers and textile design through a sampling of natural dye and embroidery processes to create your own mini and large scale textile works of art. This beginner friendly class will have students working collaboratively and independently to craft compositions inspired by nature, intuition, and available materials–finding purpose for your own worn or ready-to-discard fabrics. Through each class we’ll discover the work of artists working with fibers, including Celeste, an artist duo formed by Maira Fernanda Camarena and Gabriel Rosas Alemán who will be featured at The Contemporary Austin Jones Center this spring.
