Metals 3.0

Adults

Learn how to heat, bend, cut, and braze metals using Oxy Acetylene gas. Plasma cutting techniques will be expanded upon. Use of pneumatic die grinders using carbide cutting tools and abrasives as well as tap and die sets for cutting threads will be taught.

Explanation of hardware including: rivets, machine screws, bolts, and self-tapping screws, will allow students to incorporate nonferrous metals, plastics, and wood into their sculptures.

Students must have previously completed Metals 2.0 or can contact the Office to discuss your level of prior knowledge.

All supplies provided! Please wear appropriate clothes for an art studio. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required for wood, metal, stone, or other sculpture classes. Eye and ear protection is provided, but some students prefer to bring their own which you are welcome to do.
