Make It, Paint It

Adults

Painting from observation is a tried and true technique to improve observation and painting skills. In this class we will work from still life observation but as you've never seen the still life before. Each class will focus on a new still life disguised as something else, a landscape, a portrait, an animal, an abstract composition. Students will be guided in setting up their own disguised still life at home and then work to create a painting based on their individual set-ups. This class can be done in any paint medium, and even stretched to include mixed media. Class will also include connections to art history and current artists working with the still life in disguise.
